We are looking for a Training Manager – Technology who designs and oversees training and development programs to on-board new staff, improve individual skills, and departmental performance. Work involves mentoring technologists – Developers, Analysts, and Testers – creating and updating training documentation, managing programming projects, analyzing proposed applications, and designing software solutions. This individual works under minimal supervision and has extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This is a management level position responsible for training and supervising new Developers as well as collaborating with Resource Managers for project oversight and team learning and growth.

Essential Functions

  • Assist Resource Managers to provide learning and growth for product development, including but not limited to SDLC processes, requirements analysis, and readable code.
  • Interview and hire new technologists – Developers, Testers, and Analysts – to supplement the team.
  • Develop or oversee creation and maintenance of training materials and documentation.
  • Train team members with the goal of increasing the standard of excellence and maintaining a strong culture of teamwork and customer service. Oversee development projects as a part of training program.


  • 2-5 years of experience in a team-lead or higher role overseeing a team of 4 or more on-site and/or remote employees
  • 5+ years’ experience in software development, with experience in some or all of the following: Telerik, ASP.NET controls, Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Active Reports, Azure DevOps, Git, C#, VB.NET, Visual Studio, JavaScript, JQuery, and AJAX
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent years of experience

Experience and Skills

  • Experience mentoring, training, instructing SDLC-related skills to others
  • Experience creating and reviewing technical designs for large and complex features
  • Experience conducting code reviews for performance, standards, and quality
  • Ability to plan, manage, and track training and development projects
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges; self-directed and highly motivated
  • Skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and ability to process information logically
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of data-driven applications with MS SQL Server 2014-2019, SQL Management Studio, stored procedures, user-defined functions, and views.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented-Design concepts and development patterns
  • Experience with case management systems, financial management systems, and/or governmental database management systems is highly desirable
  • Ability to partner, collaborate, and communicate with executive leadership and peers in other departments
  • Passion for measurement, metrics and continuous improvement across the organization

  • Primarily a stationary position may have occasional opportunities to move about within an office environment.
  • Operation of a computer and typical office machinery
