Cloud Engineer II, Automation
Join our innovative team dedicated to designing, implementing, and testing features for our Vocational Rehabilitation case management software. Our application helps people with disabilities connect to services and meaningful employment. This software is used nationwide, and your work will directly and significantly impact the lives of others.
The position supports Alliance’s customer hosting services. You will perform routine to moderate cloud hosting-related work. Your work will involve design and automating customer information system environments to ensure security, high performance, scale, and other security management duties. This position works under limited supervision with some latitude for independent judgement or initiative.

- Monitor and manage the secure design and scale of customer hosted cloud environments.
- Develop tools and scripts to validate and maintain environment security configurations.
- Implement Commercial off the Shelf security and diagnostic software tools.
- Diagnose and resolve moderate to complex customer hosted environment issues.
- Configure, manage, and monitor information security and file delivery systems.
- Research and identify opportunities for product improvements, enhanced information security, and automation, independently and as requested.
- Review internal and customer-facing reports to ensure system performance and to identify potential security risks.
- Ability to follow protocols to protect sensitive customer data in high-compliance environment.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, ability to interact with all levels of corporate and client management as well as with vendors.
- Ability and willingness to adjust work schedule to provide on-call support for critical issues or for learning opportunities.
- Ability to apply a lesson learned model with personal accountability and teamwork.
- Strong attitude to successfully negotiate and execute contracts
- Superior reading, writing, and language skills
- Financial skills are required to determine exactly how the company would benefit
- Capable of professionally managing confidential information
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-organizationally
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
- 3+ years’ experience developing infrastructure as code or advanced script development.
- 3+ years’ experience with SQL and PowerShell coding.
- 2+ years implementing security or reporting software tools.
- 3+ years working in a Microsoft Azure or AWS preferred
- Information security experience; certification a plus
- Primarily a stationary position; may have occasional opportunities to move about within an office environment
- Operation of a computer and typical office machinery
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
