Database Developer/Analyst

DuPont, WA

Alliance Enterprises, Inc. is looking for a database developer with an interest in business analysis to support our Training Team and Strategic Account Managers. This unique role is perfect for someone who likes a variety of technical and non-technical duties and to work with a variety of people. You will be responsible for maintaining the business adaptation of and the sample data within the training databases. Our software applications are complex with 1,600 adaptation parameters and 350 business tables. You will work with many different roles at Alliance including subject matter experts, trainers, business analysts, product marketing managers-all committed to improving customers' use of Alliance software products. Since this is a new position at Alliance, the role will include development of new tools, processes and documentation. With this position, you'll find on-going opportunities to learn new skills and technologies, and contribute to department goals and objectives. In addition, this role could provide a career path within Alliance management or engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the master training databases for multiple software products. This includes adapting the software based on new releases and developing/maintaining database scripts to update the sample data.
  • Ensure that the master training databases reflect the customer business needs and Alliance best practices.
    • Work with trainers and instructional designers to ensure that the training materials match the training databases.
    • Work with Strategic Account Managers and Sales Support to ensure that the training databases can be used to effectively demonstrate features and processes.
  • Conduct adaptation reviews for customers using Alliance software.
  • Act as a liaison for the Department with software engineering and product marketing to ensure that the training databases and adaptation reviews target appropriate new features.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years’ experience in database development with a complex enterprise database. Two years of systems or business analysis may replace one of the two years of database development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or Microsoft SQL Server Development certification is highly desired.
  • Deep understanding of relational database principles.
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Interest in working with a team that is committed to excellence, care and trust.

Interview will include skills test and review of SQL Queries and/or documentation previously developed.

Documentation Specialist

You will work closely with the cross-functional teams of Business Systems Analysts, Software Developers and Software Testers to produce customer-facing release documentation and technical guides. You will be responsible for maintaining and proofreading documents, diagrams and spreadsheets; authoring Help content based on technical specifications; and producing large volumes of release documentation with 100% accuracy using a semi-automated process.

Software Developer

Alliance Enterprises, Inc. is looking for enthusiastic software developers for our Aware Solutions Engineering team. As part of a cross-functional scrum team, you will work closely with Business Systems Analysts, Software Developers and Software Testers to develop enhancements and corrections to the Aware web applications and supporting tools.

You'll find opportunities to participate in multiple phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, learn new skills and technologies, and contribute to department goals and objectives. As an experienced senior developer, you will lead technical design efforts, mentor new and less experienced developers and assist with prioritization, estimation and planning.

Software Product Trainer

DuPont, WA

Alliance Enterprises, Inc. is looking for an experienced software trainer to join our training team. You will conduct on-site and remote training classes for Alliance software products. You will work closely with our subject matter experts and instructional designers to create new and maintain existing training materials and documentation. In addition to mastering Aware and MyObjectives, you'll find on-going opportunities to learn new skills and technologies, and contribute to department goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct remote and on-site small group and classroom trainings using pre-defined training resources.
  • Review training evaluations with the Training Manager and identify ways to improve the learning experience.
  • Add a trainer’s perspective and assist in the development and updates to training resources including training workbooks, PowerPoint presentations, self-paced instructional programs and example training databases.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in professional adult classroom training. Software training experience highly desirable.
  • Related work experience in business management, case management or software development (such as an analyst, tester, customer support specialist) is highly desirable.
  • Strong presentation skills in both in-person and remote settings. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to quickly establish rapport.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong writing skills, attention to detail and capacity to develop training materials.
  • Interest in working with a team that is committed to excellence, care and trust.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites within the United States (approximately 12-14 times per year for 3-5 days at a time). Professional appearance required.

Interview will include skills test and review of writing samples provided from previous work experience.
