Alliance Enterprises, Inc. (Alliance) has released Aware Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Version 6.0, an upgrade to its records management software for vocational rehabilitation (VR) services. Alliance, the leading provider of VR records management, data analytics and cloud services, has enhanced Aware to guide agencies through the new data collection requirements of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which goes into effect July of 2016.
“The new WIOA regulations are far reaching and the impact of the legislated changes on our Aware clients is significant. We are very excited to get this new version of our platform into the hands of our 12,000 users who are managing the uncertainty and changes introduced by the WIOA,” said Alliance Enterprises CEO Chris M. Pieper. “Aware 6.0 is designed to make this regulatory transition as seamless as possible for the counselors and staff that help individuals with disabilities get back to work.”
Signed into law in 2014, the WIOA seeks to improve workforce access to education, training and support services, particularly for individuals with employment barriers. Although final federal WIOA regulations are still pending, Aware Version 6.0 allows agencies to start implementing new processes and collecting new data required to meet the performance accountability provisions that go into effect on July 1, 2016.
Aware Version 6.0 expands on the enhancements for Students and Youth with a Disability established by the WIOA legislation. This includes increased tracking of employment and other services, as well as tracking of specific funding streams like Title I (basic support grant) and Title VI (supported employment grant). Aware Version 6.0 also integrates new technology that streamlines search and selection functions.
Additionally, Alliance plans to upgrade Aware Version 6.0, in the fall of 2016 to provide report extracts and address any new WIOA requirements subsequently released by the Federal Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). Final regulations are expected in June of 2016.
