Vision
Michigan Rehabilitation Services wanted to replace their mainframe
computer that was not Y2K compliant, contained limited information, and
was difficult to use and maintain. The agency selected the
AWARE Case Management system with plans to
expand and customize the functionality to integrate their specific
business practices.
Approach
The new system was implemented by project teams with
organization-wide representation for the close to 700 agency staff. They
worked closely with Alliance who provided extensive training,
development, and consulting for the implementation.
Results
The AWARE Case Management
System was successfully implemented during 1999 and 2000. The agency
beta-tested LocalAWARE which allows checking
cases in and out of central AWARE while
working aware from the office on a laptop. This functionality has been
used extensively by transition and outstation counselors throughout the
state of Michigan.
Today
Michigan Rehabilitation Services
was instrumental in launching the Upgrade,
Maintenance and Support program and continues to be
very active in the Users Group. They are currently
interested in implementing the new Service Module
for their comprehensive training center.
